I know I know.  You guys are probably tired of hearing about Otis already, but the fact is we still need another $561.74 in order to get him his surgery.  I so greatly appreciate everyone who has donated, reblogged, and sent Otis a nice message.  If we could just get one more big push we could get almost all the way there.  So please please please, even if you can’t donate, a reblog is totally amazing, and I will love you forever.  Once again thank you to all those who have donated and reblogged already.

So, if you have been following me for a while you know who this is, but for those who are new, this is Otis.
Otis is my 153 pound bull mastiff.  He is terrified of just about everything, he likes to hide in the bathtub, it is possible to drown in his slobber, and he is the sweetest most gentle dog you will ever meet.  He also has a tumor in his mouth, and ear infections in both ears.  As you can see the tumor is slowly growing over his teeth which is affecting his ability to eat.  The cost to remove the tumor and have his ears drained is $800.  The cost to have both of these procedures PLUS a biopsy of the tumor and blood work is $1000.  Since we discovered the tumor in his mouth we have also discovered a tumor on Otis’ side.  We would like to have the biopsy done to know if this is cancer were dealing with or not.
I have a donate button set up on my page and it would be so greatly appreciated if you could donate even a dollar.  Every single dollar helps!  Even if you can’t donate, a reblog is just as appreciated.
Otis is a huge part of our family, and I really can not stand the thought of him not being in our lives anymore.  Thank you so much for taking the time to read this!

I’m so happy to be alive in 2013.

I’ve released this track as a single – it should be on iTunes, Amazon, and Google Play eventually if it’s not already. It’s a cover of Glee’s cover of my cover of Sir Mix-a-Lot’s song, which is to say it’s EXACTLY THE SAME as my original version. I’m releasing this under the same Harry Fox license I used for the 2005 release, so Mix will get all the royalties due to him. I’ll donate the proceeds from all sales that happen between now and the end of February to two charities: The VH1 Save the Music Foundation, and The It Gets Better Project.

Genius. Jonathan is making some amazing lemurade out of these lemurs.

Exhibit A: Jonathan Coulton’s cover of “Baby Got Back,” released 8/14/2005.

Exhibit B: Glee’s cover of “Baby Got Back,” due to air on 1/24/2013

There’s (understandably) a lot of anger on the internet about this, and it’s clear that if this is an actual recording…

Creepy Abandoned Amusement Parks

These places are truly haunting and provide an incredible venue for urban exploration, atmospheric photography and, perhaps, even for a location or two for low-budget movies. These are just two of almost one hundred abandoned amusement parks across the world.

Spreepark PlanterWald is located in Berlin, Germany. When it opened in 1969 as Kulturpark Planterwald, it was the only entertainment park in Germany. Over time, the socialist and then private owners were left with too much unpaid debt. In 2001, the park was declared insolvent and closed its doors. One of the park owners, Norbert Witte, arranged to move some attractions across the ocean to Peru, where he moved with his family, and tried to open another Lunapark. When his venture failed there as well, he was caught smuggling cocaine, valued at $20 million, back to Germany inside the mast of one of the ships.

Koga Family Land Park can be found in the Shiga Prefecture of Japan. It seems to be completely swallowed by a lush forest, its past gloriously illustrated in children’s drawings, which now hang fading from the peeling walls - an echo of “family fun”. It was closed in 1988 and has become a haven for urban explorers.
